(Our Own Correspondent) Mrs W. Berry, junr., of Hamilton, is at present on a visit to her relations here. , ■ , Mr’ and Mrs W. McNabb, who have been on a visit to Greymouth, have returned. , . .. Mrs J. Glass and family have left here to reside at Mahitahi, further south. , Mr F. Kidd, of Greymouth, passed through here on Sunday, bound for Bruce Bay. i Mr and Mrs J. Gardiner, who were recently married at Greymouth, have taken up their residence at Mount Bonar. ± Miss E. Thiele, secretary of the Inter-Wanganui Dairy Coy. is at present on a visit to Christchurch. Mr T. H. Goodman is next Saturday holding a sale of property. Two well-known residents oi this flat were married on Saturday last. Mr and Mrs Gordon F'ord and family, of Waiho, were visitors here at the week-end. . Bobby calves during the past fortnight have been going forward from this district to market. Last week s consignment numbered . nearly 10U. Were more of these reared it would mean larger dairy herds. A welcome home ball at Waitaha Hall on Saturday evening was largely attended by local residents. ’ More than twenty men and women including a former Hokitika business man, who are located at the mouth of the Big Wanganui River, have been fishing for whitebait with little success so far, the rough weather having prevented the fish coming in from the sea. Westland County Council at last week’s meeting decided that the roads in this district should be put into better order, and men and trucks are being sent to carry out the work, which councillors admitted to be urgent.
