WEST COAST CENTRE The 39th annual meeting of the West Coast Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen’s Union was held in the Town Hall on Saturday afternoon there being present Messrs J. Flaherty (President). J. Tennent, R. Abbott, B. Tone, V Messenger, J. Donaldson, F. Williams, Scott. T. Morgan, G. Fiveash and R.l Dickson (Secretary). The annual report and balance sheet showing a small credit on the year’s working were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: President Mr. J. Flaherty (re-elected); Treasurer Mr. J. Tennent (re-elected); Secretarv, Mr. G. B. Fiveash; Vice-Presidents. Messrs F. Williams. J. Donaldson and B. Topp (re-elected); Committee: Messrs. Dickson, Morgan, Messenger, Scoft. Rigdale, Abbott, Lamberton and G. Hahn. Considerable discussion took place in regard to late nominations at sports meetings. It was decided 1o request all clubs rigidly to adhere to the rules. The President, Treasurer and Secretary were appointed a dates committee.

It was decided to hold < Victory Sports Meeting in Greymouth in the near future. A meeting of delegates is being held on September 29, to arrange details. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
