WEDDINGS

McGuinness—jones. The wedding took place on Saturday at the Church of St. John the Evangelist of Gwyneth Margaret, second daughter of Mrs Jones and the late Mr M. Jones, of Waiuta, and Patrick Edward, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. J'. McGuinness, of Greymouth. Rev. Father Bourke officiated. The bride, escorted by her brother, Mr D. Sadler, wore a tailored navy > pinstriped costume with matching pillbox hat, and carried a bouquet of cream gardenias and camelias, and was attended by her sister, Mrs J. French, as matron of honour, who wore a frock of black georgette relieved with silver and green sequins with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of gardenias and camelias in a darker shade. Mr L. J. Darby, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. The reception was held at the Empire Hotel, where Mrs Jones received the guests. She was dressed in _ a dainty frock of black georgette with hat and accessories to tone, carrying a bouquet of violets and freesias. She was assisted by Mrs McGuinness, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a frock of black morocain and a black fur jogger coat. The newly married couple left by rail-car for Christchurch and Auckland. PARKINSON—GORLESS. The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, on Saturday last, of Caroline, eldest daughter of'Mr and Mrs J. H. Corless, Vancouver, and William Walter, only son of Mi' and Mrs W. Parkinson, Cobden. Rev. P. Kirkham officiated. The bride, escorted by Mr C. Galbraith, of Christchurch, formerly of Vancouver, wore a frock of white lace cut on classical lines. Her veil was of embroidered tulle, held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of white cyclamen, freesias, spring flowers and maidenhair fern, and was attended by Miss Phyllis Parkinson, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a fullskirted frock of powder blue sheer chiffon over taffeta and carried trumpet daffodils, blue iris, and gold and blue freesias. Margaret Geary, niece of the bridegroom, as flower-girl, was dressed in lemon, her frock being a replica of the bridesmaid’s. She carried a Victorian posy of gold soliel d’or. Corporal J. S. McGuinness, Royal New Zealand Air Force, was best man. During the signing =of the register Miss Ailsa J’ones sang “Because”. The reception was held at Herb. Moore’s, where, on behalf of the bride’s mother, Mrs Galbraith received thfe guests. She wore a black suit with blue accessories. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Parkinson, who wore a navy silk model frock with matching accessories. Both wore shoulder sprays of cyclamen and freesias. The newly married couple left on their honeymoon by the evening railcar for Christchurch, the bride travelling in a chocolate brown suit, with coat and hat to match, and British tan accessories.
