iMiss M. Curnow will leave this morning on a holiday visit to Wellington. Miss M. Anderson, Cobden, has returned from a holiday visit to Auckland.
Petty Officer Telegraphist E. Rostern, R.N.Z.N. is spending leave with his mother, Mrs. E. Rostern (Cobden).
Driver J. G. Mosley, has advised his parents, at Preston Road that he has arrived safely in England, after being a prisoner of war in Germany.
Mr. C. F. Hunt, postman, Chief Post Office, Greymouth, has been transferred to Wellington, and leaves at an early date.
Private Cecil Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Brown, Murray Street Greymouth, who has been a prisoner of war in Germany, is now reported safe in England.
Mrs. M. Outram, Swanson Street, Greymouth, has received advice from her son, Jim, that he is safe and well in England, after being a prisonei' of war in Germany.
Mr. E. A. J. Weston, Nelson, has been transferred to the money order branch of the Chief Post Office, Greymouth, and takes up his duties next week.
A Canberra message states that the Prime Minister (Mr. Curtin) is expected to leave hospital this week. He will rest at the Prime Ministers Lodge for at least a month before returning to work.
Mrs. T. Kelly, Alexander Street, has received advice that her son, Private J. Kelly, who has been , a prisoner of war for the past three years in Germany, is now safe m England.
'Mr. J. Rochford, Kakapotahi, has received a cable from his son, COl- - James. Vallance Rochford, who has been a prisoner of war in ceimany for four years, saying that ne has arrived in England. Corporal Rochford was captured in Crete.
Advice has been received from England of the engagement of Flying Officer S. H. Werner R.N.Z.A.F. onlj son of Mr. H. J. and the late M • Werner, of Dunolhe to Miss SBrain, only daughter of Mr A G and the late Mrs. Brain, Mickelton, Glou cpstpr The wedding takes place at St Lawrence’s Church, .Mickleton, next month.
