N.Z. NAVAL AWARDS
WELLINGTON, March 17. Advice has been received from the Admiralty that the King has approved the following awards:— Officer of the Order of the British Empire (Military Division) Temporary-Lieutenant Ralph Burton Goodwin (Auckland). This appointment is made in connection with Lieutenant Goodwin’s untiring devotion to duty. Mention in Dispatches. Temporary-Lieut. Gordon Ellis Bisson (Napier), for good services dur- I ing the invasion of Europe. Temporary-Lieut. ' John Geddqs Watson (Auckland), for good services in the Normandy assault area. I D.S.C. AND MENTION IN DESPATCHES. F.A. WELLINGTON, March 19. Advice has been received from ihe Admiralty that the King has approved of the award of the Distinguished Service Cross to Temporary Lieutenant (A.L.) Allan Russel Burgham (mother, Mrs E. Burgham, Auckland), and the award of Mention in Despatches to Temporary Lieutenant (A) John William Robert O’Shea (wife,'Mrs M. O’Shea, England, and mother, Mrs E. M. O’Shea, Wellington), for gallant service in the escort of a convoy to North Russia. Both are members of the R.N.Z.N.V.R.
