MURDER CHARGE

WOMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. WELLINGTON-, March 15. Lena Rusina- Bernard, aged 32, who appeared before Mr Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murdering her husband, Maurice Bernard, of Wellington, on February 5, pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court . for trial. In the course of a s’gned statement read in Court, she said: “Maurice said something to me, but* I cannot recall now what it was. I Had some; knives and forks in my hand. I am a bit hot tempered and got agitated about what he said. It all happened in a flash. Maurice fell down on the floor and blood came from his mouth.” Dr P. P. Lynch said that a postmortem disclosed death had been caused by haemorrhage from a stab wound of the aorta.
