BRITISH CLAIMS ON U.S.A.

TQ EXCEED LEND-LEASE. (Rec. 11.40). NEW YORK, Oct. 11. Representative Miller, a Republican Member of Congress, has returned from a tour of England. He predicted that the United States will not receive payments for her lend-lease aid to Britain. Instead, Britain will claim for war-time aid to the United States. Mr Miller commented: “This is sour, and I hate to mention it. But I saw an official public staternenr. The British are keeping records of all of the man-hours for the labour used iin moving American troops and equip ment, to be charged against America after the war.” Mr Miller said: “When this bookkeeping is finished, the British Reverse Lend-Lease will more than wipe out the British debts, both for the first and the second World Wars. We not only will not collect anything for the Lend-Lease; we are going to owe the British, who plan to charge the United States even for the transporting of our troops across the. Channel. The man in the street said that America ought.to pay part of the British bomb damage.”
