Dr. C. F. Wilson, assistant medical superintendent of the Cashmere Sanatorium, Christchurch, has been ap; pointed superintendent of the Otaki Sanatorium, Wellington.
Mr H. S. Fredericks, who retires on superannuation on Saturday, ha's been on the staff of the telegraph branch of the chief post office, Greymouth, since 1929.
The funeral of the late Mrs Anne Dalton, which took place yesterday, morning at Karoro Cemetery, was attended by numerous friends. The services at the residence of her son, Mr S. P. Dalton, Cowper Street, and at the graveside, were conducted by Rev. P. Kirkham.
The funeral of the late Mr Arthur Henry ■ Goodall took place yesterday afternoon at Karoro Cemetery, being largely, attended. Rev. E. S. Hoddinott conducted the services at the residence, Preston Road, and at the graveside.
The marriage of Maurice, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. White, of Palmerston North and formerly of Greymouth, and Isabel, daughter of Mrs. S. A. Collings and the late Mr. Collings of Palmerston North, took place at All Saint's Anglican Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday.
Mr R. J l . Scott, formerly parcels clerk in the Railway! Department, Greymouth, leaves to-day for Fatea. where he will be stationmaster. He was fare welled yesterday by fellow members of the staff, on whose behalf Mr W. H. Preston made a presentation of a fountain-pen and smoking equipment. Mr Scott will be replaced at Greymouth by Mr S. Anisya who was recently released from the Army.

The death of Mr Percival Victor Bradford, of Blaketown, occurred yesterday morning. Born at Ashburton 40 years ago, he came to the West Coast 15 years ago, but for the past six years had been in failing health. He is survived by his wife and one son, and his parents, Mr and Mrs R. J. Bradford, of Christchurch. The funeral will take place to-morrow at Karoro Cemetery;

On the occasion of her approaching marriage, which is to take place shortly at Christchurch, Staff Nurse P. Bailey, who has been a member of the Westland Hospital staff for four years, was recently farewelled at Hckitika by the nursing staff. The Acting-Matron, Sister N. Cross,, presided, and made the presentation oi table silver, eulogising the work of Nurse Bailey since joining the staff of the, institution, and on behalf of these present wished her every happiness in the future. The evening took thg form of a fancy-dress party with games and music. A novel supper was partaken of and all spent a nappy time. Occasion was also taken by Sister Cross to farewell Sister M. McLenaghan and Staff Nurse M. Minogue, who are transferring to Lewisham Hospital, Christchurch. She also spoke in appreciative terms of their work, and wished them every success in their new work. She presented Sister McLenaghan with an oil painting and Nurse Minogue with a leather writing case. Nurse Bailey was also the recipient of a glass top tray from lady, patients in the hospital in recognition of her kindness to them.
