BIGGER RATIONS
OTTAWA, September 20.
Canadian consumers may now buy limited quantities of tea and coffee, instead of their former ration of one ounce of tea and four ounces of coffee per person weekly. The Canadian press in a review of rationing says: Sugar rationing remains unchanged at eight ounces weekly. Butter rationing, introduced in December, 1942, has varied between one-third and one-quarter of a pound per person weekly, depending on available supplies Meat rationing has been onequarter of .a pound per person weekly depending on available supplies. Meat rationing'’was lifted last March when stocks increased sharply, despite shipments overseas. Fowl has never been rationed. Cheese is not rationed, but it was scarce for a short period.
