TWELVE DAYS TO GO Wellington; Sept. 20. “The Allied plans are moving steadily to the climax o£ a victory of unconditional surrender of the enemy in Europe and the Pacific. There is no holding back on any fighting front. Is it conceivable that New Zealand will fail in the financial war—the task set for it in what promises to be the year of victory?” asks the National War Loan Committee.

“The conscience of patriotic citizens impels them to make financial sacrifices as their share of homefront war activity. They have not stopped to ask whether the march to victory would or would not slow down if they held on to bank balances made secure by the fighting men’s sacrifices. Neither have the fighting men been daunted by the thought that there are monetary, or military defaulters. “The war goes on, but just at present the war loan lags,” adds the National War Loan Committee. “But there is ample time to show that New Zealand’s enthusiasm for a great cause is equal to a full subscription to the Victory Loan before the final date, twelve days hence.”
