U.S. AIR COY’S POST-WAR LINES (Rec. 11.10) NEW YORK, Sept. 20 For the first time, disclosing their elaborate plans for linking every continent by air after the war, Pan American Coy., Airways have announced they have filed an application for - two new trans-oceanic routes as well as an extension of pre-war routes.

One new route is intended to link New York and Moscow by way or Labrador. Iceland Norway and Sweeten. The other is planned from Seattle to Canton (China), via Alaska, Kuriles, Tokio and Shanghai. The latter route would connect with another line from China to Calcutta. The Company has applied for an extension of its pre-war London to Lisbon service to Paris, Geneva and Berlin, and an extension of its pre-war African line to Capetown. Permission is also sought to add a new fork to its South Pacific route to New Zealand. This fork would branch off at Noumea and continue to Sydney, thus providing the first direct connection between Australia and the American west coast. The Company has asked for a permanent certificate for operations between Singapore and Manila and an extension southwarcis to Batavia. It is planned to operate four-engined planes, an advanced type which is expected to be twice as big as Boeing clippers, and accommodating a hundred to a hundred and fifty passengers.
