Dvr. W. A. Wilde has returned from overseas and is visiting Greymouth, Miss L. Boustridge .arrived yesterday from Christchurch. Miss P. Morresey left yesterday morning for Auckland. A.B C. B. Atkinson ond I. Robertson arrived by yesterday’s express to spend leave in Hokitika. Mrs. M. Mitchell and Miss M. Mitchell returned yesterday from Christchurch. The marriage takes place this morning at St. Patrick’s Church, Ross, of Miss Tarcille Minehan (Ross) and Mr. Timothy O’Connor of Hokitika. Mr J. Ward was re-elected chairman of the Buller County Council unopposed at the annual meeting of the Council. The death of Mr John Henry Howell, aged 74 years, late Director of the Wellington Technical College, occurred yesterday at Wellington. The funeral of the late Mr Frederick Edward Cook took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon, being largely attended. Rev. E. O. Harding conducted the services.

The marriage of Miss Eileen Eaton (W.W.S.A.), formerly of Greymouth, and Mr Owen Gossen (Wellington), who has returned from the Middle East, will take place in Christchurch next week.

Mr F. A Wicks, senior mathematics master of the Greymouth Technical High School for the past six years, has accepted a position on the staff of the Christchurch Eoys High School, and leaves next month for Christchurch.

The marriage of Second-Lieutenant H. A. Crispin, Second N.Z.E.F., _ son of Mt. and Mrs. H. B. Crispin, Whangarei, to Miss M. B. Stapleton, N.Z.W.A.A.C., daughter .of Mr and Mrs. M. V. Stapleton, of Hamilton, is reported by the N.Z.E.F. Official News Service in a message from Cairo.
