INVASION DELAY

LONDON,- May 19. The German radio’s military commentator, Qolonel Von Olberg, claims that the weather conditions during the past six days have upset the strategic plans of the Allies, who have missed the tides which were particularly suited for a landing in Europe. Von Olberg added: “It remains to be seen whether the weather conditions in the past twenty-four hours have appreciably improved landing conditions.” GERMAN ACTION IN HOLLAND. LONDON, May 19. The Stockholm paper “Aftonbladet”, quotes a traveller from Holland as saying that the Germans have cancelled all military leave in Plolland. A traveller confirmed a report that the Germans are preparing to meet the Allied invasion by flooding a vast area. The German-controlled Dutch press is endeavouring to shift the blame for the Germans in advance bv saying that the Allied bombing may break the dams, drowning huge numbers of people.
