AUSSIE GETS FIVE GERMAN ’PLANES,
(Rec. 9.5) LONDON, May 17. An Australian Squadron-Leader, Charlie Scherf, shot down five enemy aircraft, this afternoon, between Stettin and the Baltic seaboard, four of them in five minutes. He got his fifth victim, an H.E. 111, over the Baltic, and the others in the neighbourhood of Kubitzer Bay, including an H. E. 117, and a bomber which blew up in the air.
