COUNCIL OF WOMEN

GREYMOUTH'BRANCH MEETS.

The first meeting of the newlyformed local branch of the National Council of Women was held in the Borough Council Chambers yesterday afternoon, Mrs. F. A. Kitchingham presiding. Delegates were present from the following affiliated societies; Women’s Pan-Pacific Society, Women’s Teachers’ Association, Registered Nurses’ Association, Nurses’ Christian Union, Blaketown Women’s Institute, Housewives’ Union, and the Salvation Army Home League, as well as observers from several other organisations and between 20 and 30 associate members. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. E. F. Evans; VicePresidents, Mrs. W Mann and Miss Julius; Secretary, Miss N. Schwebe; Treasurer, Miss N. Moffatt. It was decided to hold future meetings in St. John’s Schoolroom. The next meeting was set down for the afternoon of June 12.
