ALLIES PUT THE SCREW ON. (Rec 11 0 ) WASHINGTON, Apr. 2. The United States has now followed Britain’s example m shutting off lend-lease material trorn Turkey, oending a new survey of the latter’s willingness to aid in the Allied war effort, particularly m the Lalxans. This is reported by the United Press. Officials have refused to confirm this report that joint action is connected with the renewal of the TurkishGerman trade agreement. Turkish Ship Torpedoed (Rec. 11.20). LONDON, April 2. The Ankara radio announced that an unidentified submarine in the Aegean , Sea on Thursday torpedoed and sank the vessel “Krom”, belonging to the Turkish Waterways Administration.
