JAP SHIRS BOMBED. 1 IN THE MARSHALLS'. WASHINGTON, Jan. 13. . A communique from the U.S. Pacific Fleet stated: U.S. Army Air Force bombers struck Galoelap Atoll in the Marshalls. A small auxiliary vessel was sunk and a medium cargo ship heavily bombed and probably sunk. A large destroyer was heavily damaged. Installations on several atolls and islands were also bombed. Two attacks were carried out against Mili Atoll. , , m Enemy bombers attacked Tarawa, causing minor damage to installations and minor casualties.
