BRUNNER NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent]. A surprise party was given Mrs J. Harper on Saturday evening by the Brunner Women’s Institute on the occasion of the 25th anniversary ot her wedding. Mrs T. Nimmo presented Mrs Harper with a bouquet, of flowers, together with a beautifully iced cake. She also received a gift from the Institute. Community singing and competitions were enjoyed by all, and a vrey pleasant evening came to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.’’ The final learners' dance of the year was held on Monday evening, "when there was a record attendance. During the evening Mr T. Walker presented Miss Watson with a pair of slippers and thanked her for her services during the past year. A delightful supper was enjoyed by .all. Thanks are due to Russell Eder and Stewart Smith who have been M’sC. throughout these dances. The evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
