JAP AIR RAID. CHUNGKING, December 20. General Stilwell’s communique states that eighteen Japanese medium bombers, escorted bv 40 Zeros, attacked the American main air defence base on Saturday, causing only minor damage to the fleld. Without loss, American fighters shot down four Zeros. JAPANESE ESCAPE. CHUNGKING, Dec. 20. The Japanese broke through the Chinese cordon north-west of Lihsien, says a Chinese communique. Considerable casualties were inflicted on the enemv in mopping up operations south of the Li River
