A.’Pollet, R.N.Z.A.F. “I served in the ranks in the last war and as an officer in this one, and I may claim to have some idea of the qualities of the New Zealand Division,” said Lt. Col. Leckie. “New Zealand has every reason to be proud of the men she has sent overseas. We have had experience of other Empire troops, the 9th. Australian Division and other Divisions, and we lift our hats to them. Our own troops steal the headlines in this country, but the honours are shared by them all. Now -we are anxiously awaiting news of the New 1 Zealand Division in Italy.”
