At the Westland Land Board’s monthly meeting the following applications were granted: Sections 2590, 2591, pt. 2598, 3234/4, 3759, 3765/6, Block 1, Punakaiki 172 acres 2 roods 32.3 perches, new lease P. O’Brien; Sand spit on the north side of the Okarito River mouth (sec. 147) N. Friend; Block X, Ahaura (sec. 147), A. C. Hill; Sections 1,2, 3,5, 7,9, 10, 12, 13, 14, town of Okarito, 18 acres, (sec. 147), J. C. Christiansen; W. Blackmun’s application for section 3734, Block XII, Waiwhero, 2 acres 3 roods 19 perches, was refused. The following timber licenses were renewed: J. Gallop, 48 acres in pt. sections 3094 and 3098, Block 11, Ahaura; A. Graham, 60 acres in part section 2901, (Block V, Kopara; J. O’Neill, 20 acres in pt. section 2720, Block X, Mawheranui; W. Blackmun 77 acres in section 3300, Block XII, Waiwhero; M. Kelly license No. 815 over part sections 3229 and 3305, Block X, Waimea; L. Kelly license No 512 over 18 acres in part section 3229, Block IX, Waimea; F. Dense sections 2550 and 3225, Block XI, Waimea; C. Mills 7 acres in part section 3758, Block VI, Kanieri; G. Hunt and A. Freitas, 80 acres in part sections 3225 and 3224 (Reserve 1523), Block XI, Waimea; J'. Pamment part section 3228, Block XI, Waimea; R. Donaldson part section 3268, Block VIII, Mawheranui; A. Ri. Wallis Ltd were granted an area in section 3365, Block VII, Kopara. The following applications were adjourned: T. F. McAllister an area in part section 3225, Block XI, Waimea; J. Blackmore 25 acres; F. Newman 80 acres in part section 2738, Block I, Brunner; J. R. Williams an area in section 3081, Block XIII. Pohaturoha; W. Exchange section 2990, Block VIII, Wataroa, Elizabeth Glass, regulation license to renewable lease, adjourned for one month; Pas. L 1026. Run 632, Gentle Annie, A. Cederman applied under sec. 149 for incorporation of license an area of Crown land adjoining, also to surrender 119 acres out of above license, adjourned. At the Nelson Land Board’s monthly meeting the following applicants for sections 16 to 21, Block IX, Brighton S.D. respectively, were approved: Mrs. E. J. Truman, Mr. W. C. Fischer, Mrs. E. C. Matheson, Mr. R. M. Matheson, Rev. H. R. Fell, Mrs. M. Joyce and Miss E. Bignell. It was resolved io grant L. O. Mitchell a year to year license over 20 acres in Block IV, Waitakere S.D. at a rental of 10s per annum as from 1/1/1944. It was resolved to terminate O.L. 963 as at 31/12/43 and to grant L. O. Mitchell a year to year to year license over sections 14 and 15, Block I, Waitakere S.D., area 200 acres, as from 1/1/44 at a rental of £1 per annum. Resolved to extend Mr. Turner’s timber-cutting permit for a term of three months from October 22nd, 1943, over area of 22 acres in Reefton S.D. Transfer was approved of section 216, Westport Colliery Reserve, area, 1 rood 6.94 perches from the Trustees of the United Westland District Lodge M.U.L0.0.F. to George Arthur Mangos and Annie May Mangos. Transfers of sections 52A and 53A Westport Colliery Reserve, 20 pchs, from Henry George Elley to James Ward of Westport, butcher were approved subject to £350 being the total consideration. Transfer of section 100 C Westport Colliery Reserve. 12.2 perches from Trustees in estate of S. J'. Riley deceased to Samuel William Riley, engineer, Westport, was unproved. Transfer of section 214, Westport Colliery reserve, 1 rood 386 perches from John Druery to Michael Christopher Reardon, Westport, labourer, was approved. The Commissioner of Crown Lands announced that Mr. John O’Regan was the successful candidate in the recent Land Board election of the Crown Tenants’ Representative on the Nelson Land Board, viz: Votes polled for Mr. O’R?°"an: 364; for Mr. Gibbs: 268. * 1,
