The Illinois MacArthur Club announced that a national convention of “MacArthur for President Clubs” will be called at Chicago early next year. The Associated Press • of America says that this follows a statement by Mr Stimson and Col. Knox that Army officers are not. prevented from accepting nomination for President.

The Office of War Information disclosed that at General MacArthur’s request the people of the Philippines will receive two million matchboxes showing his picture. The “Herald Tribune’s” Washington correspondent says that the books will be shipped to Australia, but it is not disclosed how they will be delivered to the Philippines. However, observers suggested that they Imight be dropped from planes.
