SIKORSKI’S SUCCESSORS

LONDON. July 7. The appointment is welcomed here of M. Mikolajozyk as Premier in the Polish Cabinet in London. He is leader of the Peasant Party and probably the most democratic of the Cabinet members. For years he has been an advocate of closer relationships with Russia. General Kukiel becomes Comman-der-in-Chief of the Polish Forces. He was responsible for the recent appeal to the International Red Cross to hold an inquiry into the alleged massacre of thousands of Polish officers by the Russians in the forest of Katyn, near Smolensk, during 1940.
