Mrs. J. Sloan left for Christchurch yesterday. Mr J'. S. Robertson left Greymouth by last evening’s rail-car. Miss J. Bennett and Miss G. Hodgison left for Christchurch by the rail-car last evening. Mr. James Rochford of Kakapotahi has received a' cable from his son, Brvan, saying that he is safe ancl well after the Tunisian campaign. Private C. Dittman is at present visiting Ruatapu, on convalescent leave, after returning from the Middle East. • The King has appointed Sir Arthur Frederick Richards, at present Governor of Jamaica, to be Governor of Nigeria, in - succession to Sir B.
