Last year’s income amounted to £252 12s 8d compared with £242 9s Id for the previous year, the chief item being fishing licenses and opossum grants, both showing an increase. Expenditure amounted to £149 Os sd, leaving an excess of income of £lO3 12s 3d, and raising the accumulated fund to £435 Os lidI was decided to oppse a petition pre anted to Parliament by Maoris seeking permission to kill native pireons, for dispatch to the Maori Rsd'.allon overseas: also to ask the Department of Internal Affairs for permission to issue an intermediate fldiing 1 license at a fee of 12s 6(1 (half adult fee) to youths between 16 and 18 years of age inclusive; al.-o to recommend to the incoming council that Lake Ryan should be excluded from the next season’s fishing licenses in view of reports that the game sanctuary there had been disturbed by persons who claimeded that they, were fishing. It was announced that the Society’s competition for the largest eel had been won by Mr J. Goom, of 93 Reid St-., Blaketown, his entry weighing 22?-lbs. It was decided to investigate the possibility of holding the annual meeting 'at the beginning of the fishing season
