It was last night announced that Temporary Lieutenant (A) Lonsdale Hollis Wiren, son of Mrs J. E. -Wiren, Wellington, has been killed on active service with the Navy.

Mr. A. Meiklejohn, Alexander St., left by yesterday’s express, en route for Trentham, where he will take up hospital training at the camp. Prior to his departure he was farewelled at his residence by a gathering of friends. A dainty supper was served by the hostesses, and toasts were proposed by Mesdames V. Harris and J. Honey. ' .
