QUEEN CARNIVAL
WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS.
Miss Britannia. —Supporters are well catered for this week-end with the shop day to-day at the premises next to Woolworths, also the popular sale throughout the town of “Pennies for Britain,” while to-night at jche shop the weekly raffle for three prizes will be drawn at 8.30, the results being advertised to-morrow. To-mor-row night there will be a dance at Gladstone, with excellent music and supper, buses leaving after the pictures and returning after the dance. Miss America—Supporters will need no reminder of to-day’s shop day at Fairhall's, Mackay Street, where there will be a first class variety of, goods for sale, while tomorrow afternoon there will be a’ “bring and buy” at the Hospital grounds with games and afternoon tea.
Miss Russia—The usual shop day will be held in I’amui Street (at the shop formerly occupied by. Miss King), and the display of goods will be useful, plentiful, and attractive ror all. Dancing followers of Miss Russia to-morrow night will have Ngahere as their venue, in the form of a “Come as You Please” dance, and other attractions.
