V hen they dance the screen sizzles when they sing the girders meet, and when they turn Broadway upside . clown, well, you’ll just collapse into a laughing wreck. Regent Theatre Finally To-night: “Beyond the Blue Horizon.” Commen|cing Tuesday: “The Big Blockade,” starring Leslie .Banks, Michael Redgrave, Will Hay, Robert Morley.

One of the greatest star casts in British motion picture . history was lined up for “The Big Blockade, a magnificent drama telling how tne Roval Navy and R.A.F. are choking the life out of German industry. Stars like Michael Redgrave, Leslie Banks, John Mills, Robert Morley, Will Hav, Frank Cellier, Alfred Drayton John Stuart, Bernard Miles and Quentin Reynolds, famous American journalist, and commentator, fit easIJv into a story that takes the spectator behind the scenes of the most vital phases of the war. There is a lovely bit of comedy with Will Hay as a skipper of a trawler. I am glad they let him shoot down a Heinkel. There is a nerve tingling climax when on a raid over Germany, a bomber catches fire and yet gets home. With all honesty and not a little inspiration “The Big Blockade” pays tribute to the men of the sea and the air. It’s a feast for the film fan who is interested in star watching. They are stars of international reputation. Few of the players are on the screen for long at a time, hut theii - parts are all of vital interest. They had another reason for accepting the roles, too. They knew that the film was of great wartime importance, made with the cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Warfare and with the help of the Navy, the War Office and the R.A.F.
