BRUNNER NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent) The local mines will work on Monday (King’s Birthday). Good progress is being made with the arrangements for the presentation to Miss M. Watson which takes place on June 12. A few weeks ago some of the local ladies patronised the laundries because it was too wet to get the clothes dried after wash day. Now they patronise the laundries because there is not sufficient water to wash with. The supporters of the Miss Russia campaign are working hard to raise funds for patriotic purposes and are worthy of all the support possible. The installation of officers of the Eruifrier Lodge, U.A.O.D. was held in the Lodge rooms, Wallsend. on Wednesday. The District President, Bro. J. Gutberlet, assisted by P.D.P. Bro. J. Ballinger, of Westland Lodge, installed the various officers as allows: 1.P.A., John Clark; A.D., - os. Morgan; V.A., Wm. Richards; V.A.8., R. McLuskie and M. Dando; A.D.8., J. E. Morgan and T. Gutberlet; Secretary, H. ’Keenan (re-elected); Treasurer; J. McNeish (re-elected) ; C.G., F. Tinning, 1.G., J. Harper. Visv'sitors attended from Seddon and West land Lodges and, following the installation, members adjourned to Dixon’s rooms fox’ a social evening, where the usual toasts were honoured.
