TO-DAY’S MATCHES A new departure will be taken at to-day’s matches at Rugby Park. During the half-time interval in the main senior match, a seven-a-side game, five minutes each way, will be played between two Cobden primary school teams. The object, of this new procedure is to arouse interest among schoolboys and giving them the spotlight for a change. Cobden seniors will meet the StarUnited team to provide the mam match at Rugby Park. Cobden have hitherto been undefeated and if will need a very strong challenge from Star-United to bring down their colours. Given- good conditions, this game should be fast with plenty of enterprising back movements. The Celtic v. Hokiitka senior game will be played at Hokitika. A third grade game, Celtic v. Cobden will provide the curtain-raiser at Rugby Park, while the other third grade match, Technical v. Blaketown, will be played at the Technical ground. Teams for this afternoon are:—■ Celtic thirds: Fitzgerald (2), McGuinness, McDonnell, Kelly. Fauth, Guerin, Butler, Garforth, Popich, Barry, Conza (2), Buchanan and McCarthy. Celtic seniors: Dudley, Cottle, Tinnerly, Bruhn, Croudis. Gamboni, McDonnell, Fitzgerald, Freeman, Mundy and Pratt; also four Blaketown players (to meet Railway Station 12.45).

Star-United seniors: Gillan, Laing, White, Sweetman, Thompson, Dewar, Goodall, Jackson (2). Nelson, Blair, Hagan, Dowling, Pegley, Roberts, Jones, Quinn, Beptrarp. Cobden seniors: Lindbom, Hayes. Strachan, Brown, McKay, Wright. Martini, Keating, McLean, Horrack, King (2), Swift, Marley, Birchfield, Watkin, Beardsley. Gilmour. Cobden thirds: Mumm, Weir, Olsen, Steel, Woollett, Curragh, McGuire, Shrimpton, Mathieson, McGee, Page, Brown (2). Baynes, Parfitt, McClelland, Cameron. Gardiner, Barrow.
