After three years of desperate work as a saboteur and a leader in assisting Norwegians to escape from their country, a twenty-two-year-old London dancer, Helen Dallas, has arrived in Stockholm •after a narrow escape from Germans. Reporting this the “Da’lv Mail’s” Stockholm correspondent adds: “Few of the nine thousand Norwegians who have escaped since the occupation of Norway have a more thrilling story than her’s. She is legally a Norwegian, because she escaped internment by paying a young Norwegian twentvfive pounds sterling to marry, her, She- saw her husband twice—on the day of the marr’age and early this month, when she paid another £25 for a divorce. She was one of the key operatives in a nationwide organisation for the arranging of escapes, for sabotage, and for 'the dissemination of Allied propaganda. Many, Norwegians who are serving'm the Allied forces owe their freedom to her. The Germans caught her girl friend, and extracted one linger nail daily until none was left. Several of her men associates had every nah and tooth extracted in th ; s manner. Miss Dallas only consented io escape when her friends, who knew that a German net was clos’ng arountr her. threatened to take her to the frontier forcibly. “The only thing encouraging us in Norway was the 8.8. C. news I helped to distribute,” said Miss Dallas.
