RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY Despite the heavy rain yesterday play was continued in the West Coast Croquet Associations •tournament, and up till 3 p.m. when play was postponed, the results were as lollows:— CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES First Round. First life: Mrs Pepper (Christchurch) defeated Mrs Wilson (Runanga) 26/21; Mrs Howard (Runanga) won by default from Mrs Greenwood (Westport); Mrs Whibley (Christchurch) defeated Mrs E. Moss (Greymouth) 26/6; Mrs Pepper defeated Mrs Whibley 26/21. Second life: Mrs Nottle (Westport.) defeated Mis| P'enn (Christchurch) 26/23; Mrs McCracken \(Runa'nga) defeated Mrs Wicks (Westport) 26/10. Second Round. First life: Mrs C. Moss (Greymouth) won. from Mrs Greenwood by default; Mrs E. Moss (Greymouth) defeated Mrs Dunn (Christchurch) 26/25. HANDICAP SINGLES. (Over six bisques) First round: Mrs Hooper (Greymouth) defeated Mrs Hodgins (Christchurch) 26/7; Mrs W. Gunn (Cobden) defeated Miss A. McKnight (Greymouth) 26/15; Mrs Patterson (Runanga) defeated MTs Tizard (Greymouth) 26/21.
