In France 8.0.W. RUGBY, Feb. 17. The Air Ministry states: Last night, our bombers made another heavy concentrated attack on L’orient. One enemy fighter was shot down by bombers. . , Fighter Command aircraft attacked enemy communications and transport at many points in France, and Belgium and north-west Germany, and destroyed enemy aircraft. Two of our bombers are missing. Photographs show that the Germans suffered from acute bombing at St. Nazaire on Tuesday, in spite of enemy opposition, which makes St. Nazaire one of “the toughest in the book.” It is officially stated that squadrons of Spitfires carried out sweeps over the Dunkirk area to-day. Other fighters damaged locomotives in Northern France. Foui* -of our aircraft are missing. R.A.F. aircrhft operated on all 14 days and nights in the first half of February, states the Air Ministry.
