RAIDS IN BRITAIN
On Several Towns FIRES IN SWANSEA. LONDON, February 17. Enemy aircraft crossed the southwest cosat of England at seveia points during the night. Some flew tq places in South Wales, where bombs were dropped. Damage was done, and there was a small numoer of casualties, including some killed. Elsewhere, there was very little damage. No orje was seriously injured. Four enemy bombers were - aeStrOyed ' LATER. . Twelve wer e killed and many J, 1 }" jured. including three W.A.A.u.b killed and two injured, in a short, sharp raid on a South Wales town last night, which Berlin says was Swansea. A few bombers dropped flares and circled the town betor e releasing the bombs. A consideraole number of houses, hotels and s fi°P s were damaged. Fires were started, most of which were out before morning. One bomb fell on hospital grounds. The patients were evacuated to other hospitals. Four low-lying Fockewulf 19 s at tacked an East Coast town this morn' ing. Bombs caused widespread aam age, including three churches. Bombs dropped in a residential area bounced over a street of houses and damaged a block of shops, fl he raiders machine-gunned workers’ houses a number of people were sent to no--pital. _
