WELLINGTON, Feb. 17.
The following air casualties were announced to-day all of them being members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force; — Killed on active service: Brabant, 'Flying Officer Roy Ledlay (mother, Mrs. R. Brabant, Palmerston North); McDonald, L/Aircraftman Archibald Andrew (father, Mr. C. McDonald, Te Awamutu); O’Carroll, Sgt. Pattrick Samuel (mother, Mrs. E. W. O’Carroll, New Plymouth); Taylor, Flight Lieut. George Stringer (father, Mr. W. J. Taylor, Oamaru); Flansburg-Washbourne, Sgt. Alvah Wilkie (mother, Mrs. K. Bruce, Auckland); Leahy, Flight Lieut. lan Stewart (mother, Mrs. D. Leahy, Auckland). Missing and believed killed: Durward, Sergt James Sydney (mother, Mrs. S. Durward Reefton); Kibble, Flying Officer Kenneth Stanton (father, Mr. A. Kibble, Greymouth) ; Wiltshire, Sgt. Peter Thomas Windsor (grandmother, Mrs. J. H. Greatbatch, Christchurch). Died of injuries received on active service: Smith, Flying Officer Basil Le Breton (father, Mr. W. Smith, Rotorua). ’ Slightly injured on active' service: Howells, Sergt. Hector James (wife, Mrs. P. Howells, Matamata). Seriously injured on active service: Croy Flying Officer Douglas Marchbank (father, Mr. J. S. Croy, Oxford, North Canterbury). Dangerously injured on active service: Peterson, Sergeant Malcolm Albert (mother, Mrs. M. E. A. Peterson, Wellington). _ Missing on air operations: Sciatei, Sgt. James David (father, Mr. D. C. Sclater. Wellington). Previously reported missing now confirmed as prisoner of war: Emerson, Flight Sgt. George, of Darfield; Hughes, Sgt. ’Harold, of Wellington; Leaning, Sgt. John Campbell, England, of Auckland; Marshall, Flying Officer Robert, of Hastings; Penman, Pilot Officer Frank Semple, of Invercargill; Shepherd, Flight Sgt. John Alexander, of Hamner Springs; Smith, Sgt. John Robert, of Ruatoiia; Sullivan, Pilot Officer. Thomas Gilbert, of Wellington; Whitla, Flight Sergeant Gordon George, of Christchurch. Previously reported missing believed killed, death now presumed: Darling, Sgt Richard Maxwell, of Waiwera; "Gray, Sgt. Wilfred John, of Okaiawa; Stone, Sgt. Noel Edward. of Otaki; Tanner, Sgt. Arthur James, of Auckland; Billing, Pilot Officer Kelvin Cholwil, of New Plymouth; Cross, Sgt. Donald William, of Featherston.
