DEGREE EXAMINATIONS
N.Z, University INTERNAL SYSTEM EXTENDED I’.A. DUNEDIN, Jan. 19. The Senate of the N.Z. University has decided, on the recommendation of the .Academic Board, to ask the University Colleges to undertake the work of examining for Stage 11. subjects in the B.A. and B.Sc. degrees, in the same way as, and under s.milar conditions to, the provisions now applying to the “internal’ system of examining for Stage I. subjects. When the recommendation for an extension of the “internal” system of examining was before the senate, objections were raised by some ol (he delegates, who thought that examination .by external authorities was more desirable. Other delegates, however, maintained that an 1 improvement in the standard had already been revealed in masses where the internal examihing system was operating.
