BRITISH SUBMARINES

I HIT ENEMY SHIPS. LONDON, Aug. 18. British submarines off the Norway coast have hit with torpedoes large and medium sized cargo ships which are believed to have sunk. In the Mediterranean, one large supply ship was sunk and another probably hit. Another submarine attacked and almost sunk a supply ship escorted by three destroyers. A large soutnbound supply ship was also torpedoed and left sinking.
