At the monthly meeting of the Inangahua County Patriotic Committee, held on Monday evening the question of assistance to returned men was discussed, and the Secretary stated that several grants had been mlade. Members, however, were of the opinion that men seeking assistance should have some verification of their needs, both in fairness to the men themselves and the Committee. The Patriotic Committee are everready to assist necessitous cases, but members were sometimes placed in an awkward position and it was suggested that the applicants should have an official card, or such like, to assist the Committee in speedily meeting the needs of the men concerned.
