LEPER APPEAL
(To The Editor)
Sir, —On behalf of those less fortunate fellow sufferers on Makogai Island may I plead for just a few crumbs of assistance in these days of distress caused by the world unrest. The lepers’ war is always with them —a fight between disease and health. These poor stricken people look for your remembrance and somehow, things, after such a remembrance seem easier to bear. Your kindness has brightened their days in the past, and I know that you will not fail them now wnen further serious troubles are added to their hard lot.
In all sincerity we believe that our work will bring a blessing on our country and will help our war effort, God is never outdone in generosity. We are extending this work tc other British Possessions and we trust that your generosity will help us to carry this out. Space does not permit more, but additional information will be gladly supplied. The abbreviated address of “Leper Man,” Christchurch, will always find me. Yours etc., P. J. TWOMEY, Sec.-Trustee- Leper Fund.
