JAP. DESTROYERS SUNK.
RUGBY, July 21. The United -States Navy communique states: In the North Pacific area, United States submarines, have sunk three Japanese destrqyers in the vicinity of Kiska, in the Aleutians, Thesß sinkings are : n addition to those previouslv announced Several air attacks against enemyoccupied Kiska Island have been made recently bv long rang P Army bombers. These attacks were centred on an enemy encampment, and ships in Kiska Harbour. It was impossible to observe the results. Army and Navy aircraft are continuing operations against the enemv forces occupying the islands in the Western Aleutians.
ARGENTINA'S LONE HAND.
NEW YORK. July 21
The American Associated Press Agency at Monte Video said: Advices from Argentina state the Argentine Government has refused to convoy its own merchant ships, as suggested by Washington. Senor Ruiz.Guinazu told the Argentine Chamber that Argentina would not join the herd of American Republics which were being led bv the United States to make war on the Axis. The statement was made in the course of a speech answering a Socialist Deputy, Nicolas Repetto, who demanded, in view of a German submarine sinking the Argentine ship Rio Tercerto, a severance of relations with the Axis, in accordance with recommendations of the Foreign Ministers’ Conference at Rio de Janeiro, last January.
