ENGINEER’S REPORT. The report for May of the Borough Engineer (Mi- A. J. Fairmaid) states: Conditions having been reasonably favourable the second seal coat has been apnlied on the Holland Settlement footpaths and along the footpath on the Ward Street frontage of the Railway Housing .Block, alcng the Hall Street frontage of. which the footpath has been formed. Some further work has been done on the Marlborough Stree.. footpaths between Shakespeare and Palmerston Streets -and attention .'s now being given to the footpath on the south-eastern side of Shakospeare Street between Marsden Road and Marlborough Street. The bus route in Hall, Ward, Clifford and Fox Streets is receiving attention, preparatory to sealing next season. Sundry small matters have received attention towards the completion of the sewerage scheme and after the end of the current week the work remaining to be done will b?»' (1) Carrying of main sewer across main channel of Karoro Lake; (2) completion of main sewer across Erua Moana; (3) completion of sewerage in Packer’s Quay area; (4) erection and equipment of sewerage pumping stations if? Preston Road and in Packers Quay. A sum of £lOO7 stands to the credit of the Sewerage Loan 'Account'.
