(Our Own Correspondent, The death occurred somewhat suddenly at her home in Harihaii at midnight on Sunday, of Mis. Oath erine Kidd, wife of Mr. H. > farmer. The late Mrs. Kidd was 58 yeard of age. and was a daughter of pioneer settlers pf Mahitahi, South Westland, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mulvaney. She had been fm some time in failing hea th, and was recently under treatment at tn Westland Hospital. Hokitika. lhe late Mrs. Kidd leaves a lamuy .ol two daughters Mrs Miller chuf-ch), and Miss Mary Kidd (Har hari). The funeral takes place on Tuesday afternoon at Hokitika. Miss M. C. Hansen, of onustchurch, is at present on a visit to Mrs. Roberts at Mount. Bonaf. Miss L. Berry, who has been a patient in the Westland Hospital, has returned home. , Mrs. G. Diedrich, Evans Creek, who is a patient in the Westland Hospital, is progressing favourably. Mr. Archie Barrett, junr., Okanto, spent the week-end here. Mr. E. McDonnell, Greymouth, and Mr - Robert Ford. Hokitika, paid a visit to South Westland last week. ■ The members of the N.Z. Road Service staff tendered a farewell to one of their members, Mr. Cecil Searle, who will enter camp at an earlv date ' . . Mr. P. J. McLean, paid a brief visit here last week. Mr. W. Minehan, Mount Hercules, who has*been seriously ill in the Westland Hospital', is now on the road to recovery. Mr. Jack Glass, driver on the N.Z. Road Service, had the misfortune to havg a tier of timber fall on his head, with the result that half a dozen stitches were required. Mr. E. Herlighy, Evans’ Creek, _ is at. present on a visit to Christchurch Mrs. W. Sutherland, is on a visit to Greymouth Mrs. F. Minehan, who has been on a visit to Greymouth, has returned.
