LEAGUE FOOTBALL
INANGAHUA CENTRE MEETS. The Management Committee of the Inangahua Rugby League met on Saturday evening, Mr. C. McElwee presiding. The Secretary (Mr. T. F. McKenzie) reported that he had attended the annual meeting of the Waiuta Club, and that they were, very strongly organised and appreciative of the efforts of the Centre in the present difficult times. A, strong senior team was being entered from that club. The Secretary also reported that the probable number of teams in the senior competition was four, with the possibility of a fifth. It was decided to ascertain the position regarding petrol supplies this season, the New Zealand Council having forwarded advice on the matter.
The report arid balance-sheet of the New Zealand Rugby League was received as satisfactory. The proposal for the reduction of the affiliation fees payable by Leagues was being dealt with by the New Zealand League, it was stated and the Inangahua' Delegate had received instructions on the matter. It was decided that all local players take part in a practice match on May 10, and it was . proposed to commence the competitions a week later.
