Russian front were killed iri a gas-filled tunnel. This method of getting.rid of unwanted wounded is practised regularly.” The correspondent gives as his authority professor Andre Basler, one of several Swiss doctors who went. to the Russian front at. a German invitation. Dr. Basler told the . correspondent: “I was on a train returning to Germany from Brest LitoVsk when the passengers and the crew were warned to put on gasmasks. I asked iwhat about the wounded, and ■I; was told that their carriages were gasproof. The train entered a-tun-nel, where it remained half an ho.ur. Suddenly realising that this was a deliberate plan to . kill the wounded, I '.went to their carriages and found them all dead.”
