(Our Own Correspondent). Mr Jim McKendry a well-known resident was taken ill during the week-end, and was removed to the Reefton Hospital for treatment. He is making satisfactory progress. Mrs J. Rodden, who is Undergoing treatment at the Reefton Hospital is making good progress. Mr Jim Robertson, son of Mr and Mrs Don Robertson, who joined the R.N.Z.A.F., (some eighteen months ago, has gained his wings in Canada. . Messrs E. Harris and Dave Whyte left on Thursday to enter camp. Mr C. Sapsford of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Christchurch, was a visitor this week. Mr J. J. Ryan is spending a holiday in Christchi rch and Wellington. Mrs L. Page is on a holiday visit to Christchurch. The Inangahua Miners’ Union have purchased the hall and picture plant at Berlin’s, Buller Gorge. The hall and plant are to be demolished and re-erected on the site of the old hall at Waiuta, which was destroyed by fire, twelve months ago. It is expected that the work will take about two months to complete.
