Under ideal conditions, a teiims match, between Dobson and Taylorville, was played .on the_ Taylorville court on Sunday, resulting in tne Dobson team winning by 13 sets or 69 games, to 3 sets or 42 games. Towards the end of the match, the games had to be cut short, and were played to the first one to win four games, instead of the first to win six games.

Miss B. Hillier, W.A.A.F., is visaing her parents in Dobson. Mrs. R. Rothera, left on Monday for Wellington. At a meeting of_tl-e Brunner E.P.S. Central Committee, held- on Sunday, ’the Mayor (Mr-J. Smcaton) presided. The financial statement was received as satisfactory. An immediate application for the Government subsidy will be made. The next trial wiil be held without any notice being given, but to be arranged by the Secretary after consultation with the local mine managers. It is intended to improve the travelling road in the Dobson mine tunnel, for use nsan air raid slicltci. An arrangement will bo made to convey blocrldonors to the Grey Hospital. The bus wiil leave the Library at G p.m. to-day (Tuesday). Sufficient members 'will be transferred iiom the fire squads, to the stretcher bearers’ section, to meet requirements. Ladies witling to relieve the hospital qid' from domestic duties whilst serving with the E.P.S. are requested to ad vise the Secretary of the E.P..S. An urgent appeal is made for more ladles to take the sixtv hours’ course at the hospital to qualify as V.A.D.’s The trial black-outs are revealing improvements which can be effected. the last one, held on Thursday being quite a success. It should be understood bv the pubßc that attendance at parade is not voluntary, but mandatory.
