Mr C. E. Rooney, Postmaster, at Kumara, has left with his family- for Hokitika, being replaced by Mr N. Clark, who took over his duties at the Kumara i'ost Office last week. Prior to the departure of Mr Roonev the junior members of the, staff, Miss Mae Stewart and Masters Norman Steel and Pat Kirwan presented him with a fountain pen, suitably graved. expressing their appreciation at the kindlv way he .had assisted them in their duties.

Miss Chamberlain, of Southland, isspending a holiday in Kumara and is staying with her brother, Mr WChamberlain, Tui Street. Miss Margaret Henham, of Christchurch, is at present on a brief visit to her parents, in Kumara.
