ARRESTED AT NEW YORK NEW YORK, March 12. The F. 8.1. have arested the Italian singer, Ezio Pinza, a prominent basso in the Metropalitan Opera, who was scheduled to sing to-morrow as “Mephisto” in “Faust,” under the direction of Sir Thomas Beecham. The “Herald-Tribunei” says that it hears the reason for the arrest, which has caused a sensation, is that Pinza had freely boasted .of intimate friendship with Mussolini. Pinza has been under surveillance for a considerable time.
