CHRISTIAN PACIFIST

SENTENCED AT NELSON NELSON, March 13. A reservist who failed to report for duty was sentenced in the Magistrate’s Court here to two months’ gaol, to be followed by dtention in a defaulters’ camp. The defendant, Manson Hyland, said that he was a Christian Pacifist, and he refused any work under military control. The notice pointed out that the defendant had previously expressed his willingness to do non-combatant work.
