HAWAII LIQUOR BAN

Lifted After Twelve Weeks (Rec. 9.50). HONOLULU, Feb. 24. Thirsty thousands in the Hawaiian Islands are rejoicing, in anticipation, to-day. because, after a long interval ,a liquor drought in Hawaii will be broken to-morrow. Any one who pays a dollar license fee will- be entitled to purchase a weekly ration of a quart of hard liquor, or a case of beer, or three quarts of wine. Colonel Green, Executive Officer under Lieutenant-General Emmons,. the Military Governor, gives a warning that this ,(lightening of tlie restrictions is tentative for 30 days, or less, and is contingent, first, on the condition. that liquor sales do not endanger Hawaii’s defence, and secondly, that there is no increase in crime. All liquor sales were 'prohibited after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7.
